Ciajeole District Festival

06.07.2024 - 07.07.2024

Ciajeole is Moena's oldest district, and once a year the courtyards come alive to recreate an atmosphere of the past. The old doors of the tabiĆ  (barns) are opened up, and visitors can sample typical Ladin specialities and watch the "mascherai" (masquerade) sculptors working on their "facere" (wooden masks in Ladin). Live music by folk groups adds to the cheerful atmosphere.

UPDATE TO 07 JULY
The "Grop de Ciajeole" association is united in grief and sorrow with the families of the victims of the Marmolada disaster. As a sign of respect, and in order to join in the city's mourning, the "Festa de Ciajeole" scheduled for Saturday will not be taking place. In its place, snacks will be provided from 3:00 p.m. onward, with fortaie (fritters), cakes and sandwiches. On Sunday, the festival will take place as scheduled, starting at 11:00 a.m. with aperitifs, followed by open kitchens at 12:00 noon with the usual local dishes, all to the sound of accordion music. Snacks will be available in the afternoon, including fortaie and traditional cakes. Dinner with live music is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. The Grop de Ciajeole looks forward to welcoming you.
