Ladin cuisine

A holiday in Moena is also a chance to explore the flavours of Ladin cuisine, accompanied by some of the excellent local wines. These simple but tasty recipes from the past have been given a creative, modern touch, and can be enjoyed both at the "refugi" and in the best local restaurants.

Some of the tastiest items are: ciajonciè (stuffed ravioli), barley soup, canederli dumplings and polenta gnocchi. The Puzzone di Moena cheese is quite irresistible, and you should also try the delicious "fortaie" fritters, especially popular at village festivals.
