THE SOUNDS OF THE DOLOMITES - ALPE DI LUSIA
27.07.2025 - 27.07.2025
ALASDAIR FRASER AND NATALIE HAAS
MALGA CANVERE 2:00 p.m.
A mix of classical music and the Irish folk tradition: magical harmonies for evergreen dance tunes
Fraser and Haas are an example of how two musicians from different backgrounds can come together to create something new. The violinist Alasdair Fraser has had a thirty-year career including concerts, awards, participation in TV shows and radio programmes, and soundtracks for films such as "Titanic" and "The Last of the Mohicans". Natalie Haas graduated from the Juilliard School of Music and became one of the top cellists specialising in traditional music, working with Irish super-groups such as Solas and Altan, Liz Carroll and others. This collaboration is a dream come true for Fraser, because the cello has traditionally set the rhythm in Scottish dance music. Over the last eighteen years, this duo has taken the world by storm, playing with joy and energy and perfectly in sync.
How to get to Malga Canvere:nbsp;from Moena, by car to the bottom of the Alpe Lusia ski lifts (car park), and by cable car to Le Cune. Then on foot along path 623; the walk takes 1.45 hours and involves a change in height of 150 metres.
Alternative venue in the event of bad weather: Palafiemme, Cavalese
at 5:30 p.m. Tickets for the performance are available from 3:30 p.m., until all seats are sold
